Cambridge Diamond Drilling, full steam ahead

As we settle into 2014 the Cambridge Diamond Drilling and construction market in the UK city of Cambridge is showing significant signs of increasing.

A large driver for this increased work is the University of Cambridge with large investments being made in many of the existing buildings and accommodation blocks as well as new developments such as the North West Cambridge Development (NWCD).  This Cambridge development alone covers 150 hectares and is a £1 billion investment which is the single largest capital investment program in the Universities 800 year history.  NWCD  combines residential housing for University and college staff, academic and research facilities as well as public amenities.

Other Cambridge projects occurring in the area include the CB1 development next to Cambridge Railway station. This development covers 25 hectares and is transforming the old Station Road area of the city into a mix of office, residential living and student accommodation.

These and many other projects in construction Cambridge are ensuring the city is a booming place for construction work within the UK market. The majority of these larger developments are being constructed out of concrete as concrete is a low carbon construction technique as well as being fire retardant.

As with all concrete building construction there is a requirement for cutting of the concrete for new access doorways, windows, service risers, ventilation ducts and many more items.  As such the services of Cambridge Diamond Drilling and Concrete Cutting Contractors are required.  Concrete cutting is where diamonds are used to cut through the concrete and reinforcement to provide a fast cost effective method of forming penetrations and holes in reinforced concrete resulting in a a smooth cut surface.

Drill Masters Ltd are specialist Cambridge Diamond Drilling and Concrete Cutting contractors as well as throughout East Anglia and the surrounding areas.  Formed in 1992 they have been undertaking concrete projects for many years and have worked on a significant number of Cambridge Diamond Drilling development projects including the Cambridge University Library, Murray Edwards College and Selwyn college.
